Buildings are at the center of our lives. The characteristics of a building, its design, its appearance, its technical standards influence our well-being, our moods and the
interactions with others, also define how much energy a building consumes. Energy used not only for activities appropriate to the type of building but for heating, ventilation and cooling in order to create a pleasant environment. By renovating buildings according to high standards of efficiency we can obtain both very high efficiency in energy consumption and considerable improvements in the quality of life.
Europe’s building stock is historic and modern architecture, for which it supplies
exceptional opportunities and significant challenges.
